	Remove
1	Open trunk lid
2	Remove spare wheel well cover
3	Remove spare tire well panel
4	Remove cover at side from left and right trunk
			AR68.30-P-4800RK
5	Detach bracket (6) and pull connected battery (G1) to the rear
		Do not disconnect pipes.	AR54.10-P-0005RK
6	Remove rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
		Make sure that there are no components in the retractable hardtop's area of movement. Otherwise they may be damaged. Open vario roof. ↓ To do so, close trunk luggage cover limit switch (S69/10) and install retractable partition in trunk.	AR54.21-P-1259RK
7	Remove equipment carrier in left trunk with installed control units, and place with connected electrical connections to one side

	Install
8	Install charge socket wiring harness (2)		AN54.10-P-0004-01RK
		Wiring harness repair kit, basic	Figure

9	Make groove (arrow) on cutout for charge socket (3) as shown
10	Install feed-in socket for charger (X58/23) into outlet for charge socket (3)	Mount the feed-in socket for the charger (X58/23) with the catch tab in the previously-made groove (arrow) and bolt on finger-tight to the rear center section panel.
11	Connect electrical connection for charge socket (1) to feed-in socket for charger (X58/23)
12	Make cutout on spare wheel well panel		AN54.10-P-0004-02RK
13	Install equipment carrier into left trunk

14	Install rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
			AR54.21-P-1259RK
15	Position battery (G1) and install bracket (6)
			AR54.10-P-0005RK
16	Install panel at side in left and right trunk
			AR68.30-P-4800RK
17	Install panel for spare wheel well
18	Install covering for spare wheel well
19	Connect Star Diagnosis and select vehicle via the vehicle identification number (VIN)
			AD00.00-P-2000-04A
20	Enter special equipment in online vehicle data card via vehicle documentation system (VeDoc)	Add:  CODE 675 (Preinstallation for battery charger)
21	Document retrofitted equipment through VeDoc	Attach note "Charge socket retrofitted as per AN54.10-P-0004RK" under field organization text to DG 54.
22	Perform variant coding with XENTRY using the software calibration number (SCN)	Variant coding with XENTRY using the software calibration number (SCN) must be carried out for the following control units: Central gateway Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module
23	Disconnect Star Diagnosis
			AD00.00-P-2000-04A
	Check
24	Connect adapter line for charge socket (11) to charge socket (X58/23)	Route adapter line for charge socket (11) outwards so that the connector for the charger adapter line (13) is located outside the vehicle.
25	Connect charger adapter line (13) to charger (12) and adapter line for charge socket (11)
26	Perform function test	For the charger (12) function, see the operator's manual for the charger (12).
