Location 

The chassis gateway control unit is secured under a cover at the front of the front passenger footwell.

Task 

Signal routing by the chassis gateway control unit only takes place between the corresponding CAN bus and suspension FlexRay and not between two CAN buses.

The chassis gateway control unit routes the signals of the following buses:

The corresponding signal flows are described in the respective function descriptions and in the associated block diagrams or function schematics.

In addition, the chassis gateway control unit monitors the transmit readiness ("timeout period") of the control units named below using certain incoming signals:

Control units connected through chassis CAN 1:

Control units connected via chassis CAN 2:

Control units connected via vehicle dynamics CAN:

Control units connected via suspension FlexRay:

IMPORTANT Reasons for a detected "timeout period" can be interruption of the power supply to the respective control unit, control unit internal reset, CAN communication errors and hardware faults, for example.
