Detach/mount connector - AR42.45-P-0820-02EW

If there is any damage to the bracket (1), connector (2) or lock tabs (1f), the corresponding parts must be replaced. Otherwise, the connector (2) may work its way loose from the ESP® control unit (4) and the brake system may malfunction.

Detach electrical connection 

  1. Carefully press release tab (1e) using SPECIAL TOOL release tool, hold it down and swivel bracket (1) upwards through approx. 90°.

    NOTES To release the connector (2) use the SPECIAL TOOL release tool only. Otherwise, the release tab (1e), lock tab (1f) or the bracket (1) may be damaged.

    IMPORTANT By swiveling the bracket (1), the connector (2) is pushed slightly out of the jack (3) on the ESP control unit® (4).

  2. Pull connector (2) out of jack (3).

    NOTES While doing so, do not pull out connector (2) using the bracket (1). The bracket (1) can otherwise be damaged.

  3. Swivel bracket (1) downwards until the lock tabs (1f) latch into place.

    IMPORTANT To avoid any damage to the bracket (1) and lock tabs (1f).

  4. Mount electrical connection 

  5. Carefully press release tab (1e) using SPECIAL TOOL release tool, hold it down and swivel bracket (1) upwards through approx. 90°.

    NOTES To release the connector (2) use the SPECIAL TOOL release tool only. Otherwise, the release tab (1e), lock tab (1f) or the bracket (1) may be damaged.

  6. Insert connector (2) far enough into the jack (3) on the ESP® control unit (4) until its entire length makes uniform contact with the jack (3).

    NOTES While doing so, do not insert connector (2) using bracket (1). The bracket (1) can otherwise be damaged.

  7. Swivel bracket (1) downwards until the lock tabs (1f) latch into place.

    IMPORTANT The connector (2) is hereby drawn into its end position and locked.
