Interior illumination (IBL) in general 

The interior illumination (IBL) includes all lamps in the vehicle interior. Individual light functions are activated or deactivated depending on the user's requirements and the on-board electrical system. The master control unit for the interior illumination is the SAM control unit (N10). The interior illumination consists of the following subfunctions, which are described in separate documents:

• Manual interior lights control, function 
• Automatic interior lights control, function 
• Symbol and ambiance illumination, function
