Remove/install front bumper - AR88.20-P-2000NKX

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Disconnect battery ground line Model 156
with code U60 (Active Bonnet (Pedestrian protection))
 
  AR54.10-P-0003NKB
2 Lift vehicle on vehicle lift   AR00.60-P-1000AK
3 Remove screws (2)    
4 Unclip paneling on left and right wheel arch (5)    
5 Remove expansion rivet (4) from left and right fender liner (6)    
6 Detach left and right fender liner (6) to side    
7 Turn electrical connectors (8) on front bumper (1) 45°, unhook and disconnect    
8 Remove bolts (7)    
9 Pull outside temperature sensor (9) out of front bumper (1) IMPORTANT Do not disconnect electrical connector from outside temperature sensor.  
10 Disconnect electrical connector (11, 17) from left front fog lamp (16) and right front fog lamp (10) Model 156
with code U37 (Front fog lamps)
 
11 Disconnect electrical connectors (13, 14) from pedestrian protection sensors (12) Model 156
with code U60 (Active Bonnet (Pedestrian protection))

INSPECT Check     
12 Check pedestrian protections sensors (12) Model 156
with code U60 (Active Bonnet (Pedestrian protection))
 
NOTES Notes on pedestrian protection sensor   AH91.60-P-0001-01A
    Check freely visible points for damage of any kind (cracks, holes, breakovers, etc.) when installed.

If damage is visible, always replace pedestrian sensor (12).

13 Remove screw/bolts (19)    
14 Pull radiator grille (15) out of brackets (20) with extraction hooks (22) SPECIAL TOOL Extraction hook Fig 6
15 Remove front bumper (1)    
NOTES General information on the impact absorber   AH88.20-P-1000-01A
    IMPORTANT If the outer side bracket on the lamp unit (arrow) is damaged, it is not necessary to replace the lamp unit (21). This bracket (arrow) is only required for production.  
16 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
17 Check gaps on front bumper (1), adjust if necessary Gap dimension *BE60.00-P-1001-01AA

TEST AND ADJUSTMENT VALUES FOR GAP DIMENSIONS
