Remove/install belt drive components - AR13.20-P-0001MLJ

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being pinched or crushed  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, liftgates or sliding roof Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1 Remove engine covers    
2 Remove both intake air ducts    
3 Detach oil lines at oil filter housing Engine 157  
4 Slacken poly-V belt and remove IMPORTANT To do this, turn clamping device (1) at hexagon (4) counterclockwise, remove poly-V belt and detension clamping device (1).
INSTALLATION NOTES Do not use any belt wax or similar products. This leads to slipping of the poly-V belt.
 
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Observe routing diagram for poly-V belt. AR13.22-P-3902-02MM 
INSPECT Checking     
5 Inspect belt pulley sections, tensioning device (1) and guide pulleys (3) IMPORTANT Check for damage, wear and dirt; replace if necessary.  
6 Check poly-V belt IMPORTANT Check for damage, wear and dirt; replace if necessary. AP13.22-P-1352EW 
  Only perform Operation steps 5 through 9 for remove/install of clamping device (1).     
7 Remove front underfloor paneling section MODEL 166.0 AR61.30-P-1001GQ
8 Lock clamping device (1) IMPORTANT Turn clamping device (1) at hexagon (4) counterclockwise and lock in place using drift (8).  
9 Remove screw/bolts on clamping device (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA13.25-P-1001-01Y 
10 Remove clamping device (1) downwards    
11 Slacken clamping device (1) IMPORTANT When replacing the clamping device (1)
IMPORTANT Clamp tensioning device (1) in a vise, swivel at hexagon (4) in an anti-clockwise direction, pull out drift (8) and slacken tensioning device (1).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The clamping device (1) can be mounted in both a locked and an unlocked condition.
 
  Only perform operation steps 10 through 12 for removal/installation of guide pulleys (3)     
12 Remove left charge air ducts IMPORTANT When removing the guide pulley (3) on the left engine side AR09.41-P-8620MLJ
13 Remove screw/bolts for guide pulleys (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA13.25-P-1002-01Y 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA13.25-P-1005-01Y 
14 Remove guide pulleys (3)    
  Only perform operation steps 13 and 14 for remove/install of the upper guide pulley (5)  Vehicles without code (468) ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM  
15 Remove bolts for upper guide pulley carrier (5) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA13.25-P-1003-01Y 
16 Detach upper guide pulley (5) and carrier from timing case cover TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA13.25-P-1005-01Y 
17 Install in the reverse order
