MODEL 140, 210 with CODE 641 (Continental Tire System (CTS))
The Continental Tire System (CTS) is a tire system with flat-running capability.
Special disk wheels Are used, on which the tire makes contact with the radial inboard side of the rim shoulder. Support rings (43e) prevent the tire from working its way loose from the disk wheel when a tire deflation occurs.
Even with complete tire deflation it is possible to cover a distance of up to 20 km with a maximum speed of 80 km/h. The inside of the tire here is supported on the rim shoulder.
The tires cannot be renewed with conventional workshop means. Therefore the wheels must be completely replaced, wheel-and-tire assemblies are available for this purpose.
