The pressure in the components or in the overall system may not be relieved by detaching or disconnection of pressure lines. The pressure may only be relieved using a diagnostic system.
The area of the pressure line connections must be cleaned before starting the repair. Cleaning agents or solvents may not be used here.
Open pressure lines and pressure line connections must always be sealed.
To detach the pressure lines, only flare nut wrenches or special tools may be used.
Removed or not tightly bolted-on suspension struts (40) or air springs (41) may not be inflated with compressed air or pushed together as otherwise they will be destroyed.
The suspension struts (40) or air springs (41) may not be twisted. Twisting will cause folds to form resulting in irreparable damage to the suspension struts (40) and air springs (41).
When inflating the suspension struts (40) or air springs (41) the inflation process must be maintained.
Between installation of the suspension struts (40) or air springs (41) and inflation of the system, the suspension struts (40) or air springs (41) may not be loaded by spring motion.
Before driving through washer systems, pits and vehicle lifts or lanes with irregularities the vehicle level has to be raised.
The front wheel-and-tire assemblies must be moved to the straight-ahead position when the vehicle is idle for extended periods. Otherwise, the body or the front fender may be damaged in event of pressure loss.
Observe the leaflet enclosed with the new suspension struts (40) or air springs (41), and the expiration date.
