Remove/install front engine mount and/or engine support - AR22.10-P-1260OMD

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1 Secure vehicle on the lifting platform MODEL 204.9 AR00.60-P-0100CW
MODEL 212 AR00.60-P-0100EWS
2 Remove cylinder head cover trim Model 204.9, 212 with engine 651  
ENGINE 651 in MODEL 204.9 AR01.20-P-5014-02CD
3 Put on engine carrier arm ENGINE 651 in MODEL 204.9 AR33.10-P-0105CW
ENGINE 651 in MODEL 212 with TRANSMISSION 722.96
IMPORTANT Raise engine until the engine mounts (21) no longer bear the weight of the engine.		 AR33.10-P-0105EW

6.1 Remove catalytic converter ENGINE 651 in MODEL 204.9
When removing engine mount (21) on the right.

6.2 Remove catalytic converter diesel particulate filter unit ENGINE 651 in MODEL 212 with TRANSMISSION 722.96
When removing engine mount (21) on the right.

6.3 Remove mixing chamber When removing engine support on the right  
AR09.20-P-1320CD
7 Remove alternator (G2) When removing engine support on the right  
  AR15.40-P-5032CD
IMPORTANT Only place down alternator to the front.  
8.1 Remove screw/bolts (11) and take out shield (12) When removing engine support on the right  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, heat shield to engine support *BA22.10-P-1003-02A 
8.2 Remove screw/bolts (3), lay bracket (4) with cable to one side and remove bracket (4) When removing engine support on the right  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, bracket for electric switchover valves to fastening plate *BA09.41-P-1006-01N 
9.1 Remove screw/bolts (13) and remove bracket (14) When removing engine support on the right  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, turbocharger bracket to turbocharger bypass flap *BA09.40-P-1007-01P 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, turbocharger bracket to engine support/major assembly carrier *BA09.40-P-1008-01P 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, alternator to major assembly carrier *BA15.40-P-1004-01Q 
9.2 Remove screw/bolts (5) and mounting plate (6) When removing engine support on the right  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Charge air manifold fastening plate bolt on engine support *BA09.41-P-1005-01N 
10 Detach electrical connector from refrigerant compressor (A9) When removing engine support on the right  
11.1 Remove screw/bolts for A/C compressor (3 pieces) and set A/C compressor aside When removing engine support on the right  
  AR83.55-P-5300CD
IMPORTANT Lay A/C compressor with attached lines to the side below and attach in the engine compartment.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, refrigerant compressor to major assembly carrier *BA83.55-P-1001-01W 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, refrigerant compressor to engine support *BA83.55-P-1002-01W 
11.2 Remove screw/bolts (15, 16) and bracket (17) When removing engine support on the right  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, rear/center turbocharger bracket to turbocharger *BA09.40-P-1002-01P 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, rear/center turbocharger bracket to cylinder crankcase *BA09.40-P-1003-01P 
12.1 Disconnect electrical connectors for engine mount at the front left in the wheel well When removing engine mount (21) on the left.  
12.2 Disconnect electrical connectors for engine mount at the front right in the wheel well When removing engine mount (21) on the right.  
13 Remove screw/bolts (7, 18) TORQUE SPECIFICATION
ENGINE 651 in MODEL 204.9, 212 with TRANSMISSION 722.96		 *BA22.10-P-1001-03E 
SPECIAL TOOL Engine mount wrench set Figure
14 Remove screw/bolts (22, 23) from engine mount (21). TORQUE SPECIFICATION
ENGINE 651 in MODEL 204.9, 212 with TRANSMISSION 722.96		 *BA22.10-P-1002-03E 
15 Raise engine with engine support bracket IMPORTANT Only raise engine (21) until the engine support is free.

16 Remove left and right engine mount (21) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT In the case damage, always replace engine mount (21) in pairs.

18 Install in the reverse order
