Remove/install front engine mount and/or engine support - AR22.10-P-1260ELB

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
NOTES Notes on bolted connections with self tapping screws   AH00.00-P-0007-01SF
1 Mount engine hoist and raise engine slightly MODEL 207 AR33.10-P-0105CW

IMPORTANT Only raise engine sufficiently that the engine mounts are not under tension.		 AR33.10-P-0105EW
2 Raise vehicle    
3 Remove bottom engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105EW
4 Remove screw/bolts (2) for engine mount (5) on engine support (8) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, front engine mount to engine support *BA22.10-P-1001-03E 
5 Remove front axle carrier (3) 212, 218 with 4Matic  
AR33.10-P-0001EW
6 Remove screw/bolts (4) for engine mount (5) on front axle carrier (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, front engine mount to front axle carrier *BA22.10-P-1002-03E 
7 Remove steering coupling When removing left-hand engine mount (5)

8 Remove heat shield (6) on engine support (8) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, heat shield to engine support *BA22.10-P-1003-02A 
9 Lift engine NOTES
Ensure for lifting the engine that it does not touch the partition wall.
The cable and lines can be damaged otherwise.		  
10 Remove engine mount (5) to the rear INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The engine mount (5) must sit in the cutouts on the engine support (8).
IMPORTANT Always replace engine mount (5) in pairs. Pay attention to environmental protection regulations for disposal of engine mounts (5).		  
  Left engine support (8)     
11 Remove screw/bolt for A/C compressor on engine support (8) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, refrigerant compressor to timing case/crankcase/engine support *BA83.55-P-1001-01M 
12 Remove rear heat shield from turbocharger TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, shield to turbocharger/cylinder head *BA09.40-P-1007-01R 
13 Remove screw/bolts for engine support (8) on crankcase TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, engine support to crankcase *BA22.10-P-1001-02A 
SPECIAL TOOL Set of flexible head wrenches Fig 2
14 Remove engine support (8) to the rear    
  Right engine support (8)     
15 Remove alternator   AR15.40-P-5032ELB
16 Remove screw/bolt for heat shield on starter at engine support (8) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, heat shield to engine support *BA22.10-P-1003-02A 
17 Unclip retaining clamp (7) for heat shield on the turbocharger at heat shield (6) of engine support (8) and remove retaining clamp (7)    
18 Remove rear heat shield from turbocharger TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, shield to turbocharger/cylinder head *BA09.40-P-1007-01R 
19 Remove screw/bolts for engine support (8) on crankcase TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, engine support to crankcase *BA22.10-P-1001-02A 
SPECIAL TOOL Set of flexible head wrenches Fig 2
20 Remove engine support (8) with heat shield (6) downwards    
21 Install in the reverse order
