Notes on replacing trim strips in vehicle interior - AH68.00-P-0002-01H
MODEL 240
Before removing damaged trim elements, first observe replacement part information concerning the determination of parts kits and reference parts.
To ensure a uniform appearance of the trim elements in the vehicle interior; trim elements to be repaired which are located close to each other are grouped together into a parts kit.
It is always necessary to replace all parts in the parts kit completely.
A reference part is defined for some parts kits, depending on the appearance.
The reference part does not always correspond to the damaged trim part.
Before replacing these parts kits, it is always necessary to first order a replacement for the reference part. This "replacement part" is defined in EPC as an indented part in the parts kit and is used as a temporary replacement part until the corresponding parts kit is supplied.
To ensure that a parts kit to match the vehicle can be prepared, it is necessary to replace the reference part with the "replacement part" and send in the reference part when ordering the parts kit.
A parts kit to match the vehicle can be prepared on the basis of this reference part. This ensures that the part kit is produced with an appearance virtually identical to that of the reference part.
After replacement of the trim part in the parts kit, the removed trim parts should be given to the customer, including the "replacement part". The removed parts can be used as "replacement parts" later, if required.
