Remove/install E-Call emergency call system control unit - AR82.95-P-0008US

MODEL 463.246 /249 /271 up to 1.4.07 with CODE (ET2) TeleAid car phone emergency call system

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
1 Switch on ignition    
2 Move front passenger seat into the rearmost position and into the uppermost position    
3 Remove clip (2)    
4 Move front passenger seat into the foremost position    
5 Remove clips (arrows)    
6 Remove cover (1)    
7 Unscrew nuts (3)    
8 Move front passenger seat into the rearmost position    
9 Unscrew nuts (4)    
10 Move front passenger seat into the foremost position    
11 Switch off ignition and remove ignition key    
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A
12 Disconnect battery ground line   AR54.10-P-0003G

13 Pull E-call control unit (A35/8) out of bracket    
14 Release electrical connector (A) and disconnect    
15 Release fiber optic cable connector (B) and disconnect    
16 Cover fiber optic cable   AR82.95-P-0005-01A 
NOTES Notes on fiber optic cable   AH82.70-P-0001-02A
17 Disconnect antenna plug (C)    
18 Remove E-call control unit (A35/8)    
19 Install in the reverse order    
20 Read out fault memory and erase IMPORTANT STAR DIAGNOSIS
Stored faults which can result from cables being disconnected or from simulation during removal and installation or test work, have to be processed and erased in the fault memories after completing the work.
 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
21 Perform basic programming   AR00.19-P-0200P
