Remove/install emergency buffer - AR32.00-P-1000EW

MODEL 212 with CODE (489) AIRmatic (air suspension with continuous damper adjustment) with CODE (488) Steel/air suspension 

MODEL 218 with CODE (489) AIRmatic (air suspension with continuous damper adjustment) with CODE (488) Steel/air suspension

REMOVINGINSTALLING Installing, removing     
IMPORTANT Notes on AIRmatic   AH32.22-P-1000-02EW
    IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Emergency buffers (01, 02) may only be used for maneuvering.  
1 Raise appropriate side of vehicle    
  Install emergency buffer (01) onto front axle     
2 Remove boot (1) from lower spring cup (2) and slide upwards    
3 Position emergency buffer (01) on lower spring cup (2) IMPORTANT With opening towards the inside of the vehicle.

4 Place boot (1) into emergency buffer (01) NOTES Otherwise, during the jounce process the boot (1) could be jammed between the fender and SPECIAL TOOL emergency buffer (01) and be damaged as a result.  
5 Slowly lower vehicle IMPORTANT Make sure that the SPECIAL TOOL emergency buffer(01) is positioned at the top of the fender.  
6 Remove in the reverse order    
  Install emergency buffer (02) onto rear axle     
7 Detach fender liner of fender in area of shock absorber    
8 Slide protective tube (3) downwards    
9 Insert emergency buffer (02) IMPORTANT The SPECIAL TOOL emergency buffer (02) is a two piece part (arrow).

10 Slide emergency buffer (02) into support bushing (4) (arrow) NOTES During the jounce process the SPECIAL TOOL emergency buffer (02) may tilt otherwise and damage the support bushing (4) or shock absorber.  
11 Remove in the reverse order
