Night View Assist control unit, component description - GF54.30-P-6200FL
MODEL 212.0/2 up to 28.2.13 with CODE (610) Night vision assist
Shown on model 212.0
Location
The Night View Assist control unit is located on the right A-pillar, behind the cover in the footwell.
Tasks
The Night View Assist control unit performs the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Output of signals
- Actuation of components
Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- LVDS (Low voltage differential signal)
- Chassis CAN (CAN E)
Low-Voltage Differential Signal
The following signals are read in through the LVDS:
- Picture data for Night View Assist camera (B84/2)
Chassis CAN
The Night View Assist control unit reads in the following information over the chassis CAN:
- Speed
- Infrared light status
- Light source detection status
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Output of signals
The Night View Assist control unit sends the video data over an analog video interface (brightness information (luminescence)/color information (chrominance) (Y/C)) to the COMAND controller unit (A40/3).
From the COMAND control unit the video data are sent over an LVDS line to the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8).
Actuation of components
Components are actuated with the following connection:
- Chassis CAN
Chassis CAN
The Night View Assist control unit sends the following information or requests over the chassis CAN:
- Night View Assist status
- Infrared light request
- Requirement status or information message
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
