Location
The Audio/COMAND control panel is located on the center console between the front seats.
Tasks
The Audio/COMAND control panel is the central control for the telematics functions. The Audio/COMAND control panel can be used to operate the functions shown on the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8). The Audio/COMAND control panel receives the following signals:
- Power supply of circuit 30g and circuit 31 via a direct line
- Control data from audio equipment via telematics CAN (CAN A) The Audio/COMAND control panel sends the following signals:
- Control signals via telematics CAN to the audio equipment
Body
Depending on the equipment specification involved, the Audio/COMAND control panel is equipped with the following controls:
- Audio/COMAND controller for navigation within the menu and selection of menu items, for operation of character bar on Audio/COMAND display and for navigating on the Internet
- "Back" button e.g. to jump back a level within a menu
- "Delete" button, to delete individual characters or complete entries
- Button for free programming at left, can be assigned by the user
- Button for free programming at right, can be assigned by the user
- "Seat" button, to make seat adjustments
- Display OFF button, to switch Audio/COMAND display off and on again
The Audio/COMAND controller is always installed. A detailed overview of the buttons and conditions of installation can be found under "Variants".
Function
The buttons are designed as push/push buttons.
The following individual operations are possible with the Audio/COMAND controller:
- Press: Down vertically
- Turn: To left or right
- Slide: To four quadrants as well as diagonally
