Location 

The left front door control unit is located on the door module behind the door lining.

Task 

The left front door control unit has the following tasks:

• Reading in of signals 
• Evaluation of input factors 
• Actuation of components 

Reading in of signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

• Direct line 
• Left front door LIN (LIN B5) 
• Interior CAN (CAN B) 

Direct line 

The signals from the following components are read via direct lines:

• Infrared remote control receiver, driver-side front door (A261)
• Left front door rotary tumbler switch (A85s1)
• Hall sensors for left front power window motor (M10/3)
• Vertical inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/1r2) (with code (275) Electrically adjustable front seats memory package)
• Potentiometer for horizontal inclination adjustment (M211r3) (with code (275) Electrically adjustable front seats memory package)
• Remote trunk lid release button (S15/1) (model 212.0/1 with code (881) Remote trunk closing (RTC))
• Driver trunk lid/liftgate control button (S15/3) (model 212.0/1 with code (881) Remote trunk closing (RTC), model 212.2)
• Left front door central locking interior switch (S855):
  • Open central locking switch (S855s1)
  • Close central locking switch (S855s2)

Left front door LIN 

The signals for the following components are read in by the front door LIN:

• Driver-side power window and outside mirror adjustment switch group (S20):
  • Left front power window switch (S20s1)
  • Right front power window switch (S20s2)
  • Left rear power window switch (S20s3)
  • Right rear power window switch (S20s4)
  • Rear side window child safety lock switch (S20s5)
  • - Outside mirror fold-in/out switch (S20s9) (with code (249) Automatically dimming interior rearview mirror and outside mirror, including folding outside mirror, and without code (494) USA version)
  • Left outside mirror adjustment switch (S20s10)
  • Right outside mirror adjustment switch (S20s11)
  • Outside mirror adjustment switch (S20s12)
• Left front seat adjustment switch group (S22) (with code 275) Memory package (electrically adjustable front seats)
  • Left front head restraint adjustment switch (S22s1)
  • Left front seat inclination adjustment switch (S22s2)
  • Left front seat fore/aft adjustment switch (S22s3)
  • Left front seat height adjustment switch (S22s4)

  • Left front memory function switch (S22s6)

The left front door control unit supplies the connected control elements with c. 58d.

Interior CAN 

The signals are read in by the left front door control unit via the interior CAN.

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.

The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
