Location

The upper control panel control unit is located on the center console.

Task

The upper control panel control unit performs the following tasks:

Reading in of signals
Transmitting signals

Signals are read in via the following connection:

Instrument panel LIN (LIN 1)

Instrument panel LIN

The upper control panel control unit reads in function feedback requests over the instrument panel LIN. These are sent from the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).

The activity of the following functions is displayed by the corresponding light-emitting diodes in the buttons on the upper control panel control unit's controls:

Parking system (with code (235) Active Parking Assist or code (220) PARKTRONIC)
Rear window roller sun blind (with code (540) Electric roller blind for rear-end window)
Front seat heater (with code (873) Heated left and right front seats or with code (401) Front comfort seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation)
Front seat ventilation (with code (401) Front comfort seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation)
Stationary heater (with code (228) Stationary heater)
Antitheft alarm system (ATA [EDW]) (with code (551) Antitheft alarm system (ATA [EDW]))
ECO start-stop function (for code (B03) ECO start-stop function)
