Function requirements, general 

• Circuit 15R ON

The electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) sends the circuit status of circuit 15 over the interior CAN (CAN B) to the instrument cluster (A1).

Workshop level adjustments, general 

The workshop level is used by technicians in the workshop for reading out vehicle and service data and provides assistance with carrying out the service.

The "Workshop level" menu is activated as follows:

• Select "Trip" menu
• Press right button of accept and end phone call button (S111s3) in right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111) and OK button (S110s6) in left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) at the same time t > 3 s

The display in the multifunction display (A1p13) changes to the workshop level. It is possible to scroll between the respective menu items and submenus or through the different lists by pressing the scroll forward/back button (S110s1). Selection is then made by pressing the OK button.

The steering wheel electronics (N135) read in the control signals from the multifunction steering wheel button group directly and sends them via the steering LIN (LIN E1) to the steering column tube module control unit (N80). The steering column tube module control unit sends them to the instrument cluster via the chassis CAN (up to 28.2.13) or via chassis CAN 1 (CAN E1), the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) and chassis CAN 2 (CAN E2) (as of 1.3.13).

The following menu items can be accessed:

• "Vehicle data" menu 
• "Dynamometer test" menu 
• ASSYST-PLUS menu 

"Vehicle data" menu 

The following data can be called up in the vehicle data menu:

• Voltage (in V) and amp draw (in A) in on-board electrical system
• Data from instrument cluster (version numbers, software releases etc.)
• Engine data (engine number etc.)
• Vehicle identification number (VIN)

"Dynamometer test" menu 

Activation of the dynamometer test prevents errors from being entered in the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) (without code (233) DISTRONIC PLUS, or without engine 157) or in the Premium Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/7) (with code (233) DISTRONIC PLUS or with engine 157) during the brake test on the roller dynamometer.

The following settings can be selected in the dynamometer menu:

• "On"
• "Off" with circuit 15 OFF

If the workshop menu is left and the menu "Dynamometer test" was not deactivated prior to this, it will be automatically called up during the next ignition cycle.

ASSYST-PLUS menu 

The following data can be called up in the ASSYST PLUS menu:

• Service data
• Full service

After a service is performed, the service interval is reset in this menu.
