	Remove/install
1	Remove rear axle shaft (37a)		AR35.30-P-0621MTA
		As a repair is only possible on certain rear axle shafts (37a) .
2	Clamp rear axle shaft (37a) using protective jaws in vise
3	Detach clamps (37k)
4	Detach cup seal (37i) from inner joint ring (37c) or outer joint ring (37b)		AR35.30-P-0662-01MTA

		Model 156, 176, 246 with code M005 (4MATIC) Filling capacity for joint housing	*BF35.30-P-1001-01G
5	Disassemble inner constant velocity joint		AR35.30-P-0662-03MTA
6	Press off joint hub (37d) from rear axle shaft (37a)		AR35.30-P-0662-02MTA
	Shell halves (2 ea.) for pressing off and caulking the inner constant velocity joint.		WF58.50-P-3530-01A
	Staking tool for securing joint hub on rear halfshaft		WF58.50-P-3530-07P
		Drift	Fig 2
7	Remove boot (37l) of opposite constant velocity joint	If necessary. Boot (37l) can be pulled off over the rear axle shaft (37a).
	Check
8	Check constant velocity joints for wear		AR35.30-P-0662-03MTA
		If the outer constant velocity joint is defective, the rear axle shaft (37a) must be replaced.
9	Install in the reverse order
