DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of injury.  Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating range of the mechanism when moving components. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
  Preparatory tasks     
1 Release parking brake    
2 Lift vehicle on vehicle lift    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR00.60-P-1000AK
REMOVING Remove     
3 Remove rear underfloor paneling MODEL 117, 156, 176, 242, 246  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR61.30-P-1001NKB
INSPECT Check     
4 Check wheel bearing by firmly pulling, pushing and turning the wheels If there are problems: ↓
Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
 
5 Check spring control arm elastomer bearing (1) for cracks, deformation and wear, and for play by firmly tugging and pushing If there are problems: ↓
Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
 
6 Check tie rod elastomer bearing (2) for cracks, deformation and wear, and for play by firmly tugging and pushing If there are problems: ↓
Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
 
7 Check trailing arm elastomer bearing (3) for cracks, deformation and wear, and for play by firmly tugging and pushing If there are problems: ↓
Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
 
8 Check rear axle level sensor (12), linkage, ball heads and sensor for correct seating, cracks, deformation, corrosion and play Vehicles with level sensor
If there are problems: ↓
Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
 
9 Check stabilizer bushing (4) for cracks, deformation and wear and for play by firmly tugging and pushing If there are problems: ↓
Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
 
10 Check shift rail elastomer bearing (5) for cracks, deformation and wear, and for play by firmly tugging and pushing If there are problems: ↓
Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
 
11 Check camber strut elastomer bearing (6) for cracks, deformation and wear, and for play by firmly tugging and pushing If there are problems: ↓
Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
 
12 Check rear axle differential elastomer bearing (7) for cracks, deformation and wear If there are problems: ↓
Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
 
13 Check rear axle carrier (7) for cracks, deformation and corrosion If there are problems: ↓
Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
 
14 Check elastomer bearing for rear axle differential (8) for cracks, deformation and wear If there are problems: ↓
Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
 
15 Check outer drive shaft boots (9) for condition, leaktightness and correct seating. If there are problems: ↓
Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
 
16 Check inner drive shaft boots (10) for condition, leaktightness and correct seating. If there are problems: ↓
Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
 
17 Check clamps (11) of drive shaft boots for condition and seating If there are problems: ↓
Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
 
INSTALLING Install     
18 Install rear underfloor paneling MODEL 117, 156, 176, 242, 246

19 Lower vehicle with lifting platform
