DANGER Risk of injury  due to fan starting unexpectedly Do not reach into the rotation or hazard area of the fan. Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes. AS20.40-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Perform disable for the high-voltage on-board electrical system Model 242 with engine 780

2 Switch off ignition and keep transmitter key at a location beyond transmitter range (at least 2 m) Model 117, 156, 176, 246

NOTES All electrical consumers must be switched off. They may otherwise be damaged when the ground line (5) is disconnected/connected.
 
3 Open engine hood and secure against falling down    
4 Unclip retaining clip (2.1) for engine wiring harness (2) from on-board electrical system battery cover (1) Model 117, 156, 176, 246 with engine 607, 651  
5 Unclip engine hood cable (3) from on-board electrical system battery cover (1) Model 117, 156, 176, 246

6 Unlock on-board electrical system battery cover (1) in direction of arrow and remove Model 117, 156, 176, 246

7 Slacken nut (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, battery cable to negative terminal/positive terminal of on-board electrical system battery *BA54.10-P-1007-01I 
8 Detach ground line (5) from on-board electrical system battery (G1) and expose in battery box area    
9 Using a diode test lamp, check the electrical system for voltage between the positive line of the on-board electrical system battery (G1) and the disconnected ground line (5) Model 117, 156, 176, 246

IMPORTANT If the diode test lamp lights up, the on-board electrical system is still active because of a defect in the electrical system.
 
10 Disconnect ground cable from additional battery Only when the diode test lamp lights up.

11 Install in the reverse order    
12 Reset clock If the clock needs to be manually adjusted.
