	Dialing
1	Close engine hood	MODEL 197, 204, 207, 212
		MODEL 204.3, 207, 212 On vehicles with U60 (Pedestrian protection) Close engine hood:  Attach the left and right clamping lever at the top of the left and right engine hood hinge.	AR88.40-P-1000EW
2	Close doors and trunk lid or liftgate
3	Turn transmitter key in electronic ignition lock control unit to position "1"	The standard display (kilometer counter) must appear in the multifunction display (6); if necessary, repeatedly press the scroll forward/back button (4).
4	Repeatedly press system selection button (1) until menu item "Trip" is highlighted in multifunction display (6)	"Trip" remains selected for approx. 5 s. Operation step 5 must be carried out within this time.
5	First press and hold down accept and end phone call button (2) and then, within 1 s, also press and hold down OK button (3) for approx. 5 s	The workshop menu with the "Vehicle data", "Dynamometer test" and "ASSYST PLUS" tabs appears in the multifunction display (6).
6	Press scroll forward/back button (4) repeatedly until "ASSYST PLUS" is highlighted and confirm selection with OK button (3)	The "Service data" and "Full service" tabs appear in the multifunction display (6).
	Read out maintenance data
7	Select "Service data" tab and confirm with OK button (3)	In the acceptance report, note down the workshop code (e.g. 505) and the service code (e.g. A) that appear in the multifunction display (6). The codes are required for generation of the vehicle-specific service sheet.
8	Press scroll forward button (4) repeatedly and read out remaining time, remaining distance and oil data record (e.g. 01 1F 00)	Note down read out data in reception protocol.
	Reset service data
9	Press scroll forward/back button (4) to highlight "Full Service" and confirm selection with OK button (3)	The current service items appear in the multifunction display (6).
10	Press scroll forward/back button (4) repeatedly until "Confirm serv." is highlighted in multifunction display (6) and confirm selection with OK button (3)	The oil selection or "Service carried out?" appears in the multifunction display (6).
11	Select specification of used engine oil using scroll forward button of scroll forward/back button (4) and confirm selection with OK button (3)	On vehicles with oil selection In order to achieve the maximum kilometer interval, engine oil for gasoline engines must be used and confirmed as per Specifications for Operating Fluids specification 229.5 and engine oil for diesel engines must be used and confirmed as per Specifications for Operating Fluids specification 229.51.
12	Press scroll forward/back button (4) until "Yes" is highlighted and confirm selection with OK button (3)	"No take-back possible" appears in the multifunction display (6).
13	Press scroll forward/back button (4) until "Confirmation" is highlighted and confirm selection with OK button (3)	"Full service carried out" appears in the multifunction display (6). If the service is not performed or only partly performed after resetting the maintenance computer, then the maintenance computer has to be reset to the default value again. ↓
