Remove/install rear wall window - AR67.20-P-2000LW

DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
NOTES Notes on remove/install rear window   AH67.20-P-2000-01T
REMOVING Remove     
1 Prepare 1-component adhesive   AR67.10-P-1000-12SX
Repair kit, windshield glazing, 1-component adhesive *BR00.45-Z-1135-02A 
SPECIAL TOOL Adapter Figure
2 Open side window in driver door    
3 Remove left and right C-pillar paneling and lay down to side with installed seat belts   AR68.30-P-4490LW
4 Cover over rear shelf IMPORTANT To protect against dirt and damage.  
5 Separate electrical connectors (2) IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors (2) depends on the vehicle equipment.  
6 Remove ground line (3) from C-pillar    
7 Fasten all electrical lines connected to the rear window (1) to inside of the rear window (1) with adhesive tape (4) IMPORTANT Number of electrical lines according to vehicle equipment.  
8 Remove left drip rail    
9 Open luggage compartment lid    
DANGER Risk of injury  from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS67.00-Z-0004-01A
10 Cut out rear window (1) with window removal tool and remove   AR67.10-P-1000-11SX
    IMPORTANT Punch left upper bonding in area of removed drip rail.
IMPORTANT Helper required to remove rear window (1)
 
CLEANING Clean     
11 Clean passenger compartment    
INSTALLING Install     
12 Prepare body flange for installation of window   AR67.10-P-1501-01P
NOTES General notes about painting the body flange in the glazing area   AH98.00-P-9408-06A
    Primer stick *BR00.45-Z-1012-07A 
    Hepox 2K EP primer filler 4017 (Spray Max) *BR00.45-Z-1050-07A 
    Repair kit, windshield glazing, 1-component adhesive *BR00.45-Z-1135-02A 
13 Prepare rear window (1) for installation   AR67.10-P-1000-03P
NOTES The bonding area on the windshield (1) must be absolutely free of dust and grease. Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.

14 Replace rubber window spacers   AR67.10-P-1000-02T
IMPORTANT Remove protective foil from rubber window spacers only on one side.  
15 Align rear window (1) in body opening   AR67.20-P-2000-04P
Distance between top edge of rear window and transition between rabbet and rear edge of roof *BE67.20-P-1001-01M 
Distance between window edge at the side and the C-pillar panel *BE67.20-P-1002-01M

16 Remove protective foil from rubber window spacers    
17 Apply adhesive material   AR67.10-P-1000-08P
NOTES Install rear window (1) within 10 minutes after applying adhesive material to body flange. Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.
IMPORTANT Uniformly apply adhesive bead at a height of approx. 13 mm.

18 Clean rear window (1) and fix in place with suitable adhesive tape   AR67.20-P-2000-05P
NOTES The side window of the driver door should remain open during the curing time.
Otherwise the rear window (1) can be pressed toward outside by the air when a door is closed.
IMPORTANT Helper required.
The curing time of the adhesive material is approx. 2 h measured from the time the rear window (1) is installed.
 
19 Install ground line (3) on C-pillar    
20 Connect electrical connectors (2) IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors (2) depends on the vehicle equipment.  
21 Remove cover from rear shelf    
22 Install left and right C-pillar paneling   AR68.30-P-4490LW
23 Install left drip rail    
24 Close side window in driver door After curing time of adhesive material.  
25 Remove all adhesive strips and close trunk lid After curing time of adhesive material.  
CLEANING Clean     
26 Clean rear window (1) and vehicle interior After curing time of adhesive material.
