Remove/install engine hood lifter - AR91.60-P-0900LW

DANGER Risk of injury  during testing and repair operations related to pyrotechnical components Do not expose pyrotechnical components to temperatures above 100°C or 212°C.
Disconnect current supply when working on such components.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Check hinge damper for engine hood for damage and deformation In the event of damage or deformation:

Replace hinge of engine hood.

Replace hinge damper for engine hood.

2 Disconnect battery ground line   AR54.10-P-0003LW
3 Release cover (5) at left-hand side and lift until electrical connector (4) is accessible When removing engine hood lifter (2) on left side of vehicle.  
4 Remove grommet (3) INSTALLATION NOTES
Ensure that electrical wiring harness (7) is routed correctly.
The electrical wiring harness (7) may be damaged otherwise.
 
5.1 Disconnect electrical connector (4) from washer fluid reservoir (6) When removing engine hood lifter (2) on left side of vehicle.  
5.2 Release and remove electrical connector (4) When removing engine hood lifter (2) on right side of vehicle.  
6 Disconnect electrical connection (4)    
7 Remove screw/bolt (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, engine hood lifter to body *BA91.60-P-1002-02A 
8 Remove engine hood lifter (2) toward top INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Do not get electrical wiring harness (7) caught in moving parts.  
9 Dispose of removed engine hood lifter (2) properly When replacing engine hood lifter (2).  
10 Install in the reverse order    
11 Connect diagnostic system and check supplemental restraint system (SRS) Model 205
with code U60 (Active Bonnet (Pedestrian protection))

When replacing engine hood lifter (2).
 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   Model 205
