	Remove
1	Remove license plate with license plate number
2	Mask crosshatched area (area C) on trunk lid (2) as shown
3	Pull out handle strip (1) with extraction hook (arrow A)	Simultaneously detach adhesive strips (4) in this area.

4	Unclip handle strip (1) from trim piece (arrows B)	Mounting wedge	Figure
5	Unclip retaining clips (3) and remove handle strip (1)	Replace damaged retaining clip (3).

6	Remove adhesive from trunk lid (2) and clean bonding surfaces	Bonding surface must be free of grease and dust. Observe flash-off time for cleaning agent.

	Install
7	Remove adhesive residues from handle strip (1) and install new adhesive pad (4) on handle strip (1)	When reusing handle strip (1). Bonding surface must be free of grease and dust. Observe flash-off time for cleaning agent.

8	Position handle strip (1) on trunk lid (2) and clip in	Press on handle strip (1) in area of adhesive strips (4).
9	Remove adhesive tape from trunk lid (2)
10	Remove license plate number with license plate bracket
