Component description for adaptive damping system control unit - GF32.32-P-1010RF
MODEL 205 with CODE 488 (AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension)
MODEL 205 with CODE 492 (AMG performance suspension)
Shown on model 205.0
Location
The adaptive damping system control unit is located beneath the left front seat.
Tasks
The adaptive damping system control unit does the following:
- Reading in of signals
- Actuation of components
Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Chassis FlexRay (Flex E)
Direct line
The signals from the following components are read via a direct line:
- Left rear level sensor (B22/7)
- Left front level sensor (B22/8)
- Right front level sensor (B22/9)
- Right rear level sensor (B22/10)
- Left front body acceleration sensor (B24/3)
- Right front body acceleration sensor (B24/4)
- Left rear body acceleration sensor (B24/5)
Chassis FlexRay
The adaptive damping system control unit is a subscriber of the chassis FlexRay and receives signals from the following control units, for example:
- Instrument cluster (A1), via user interface CAN (CAN HMI) with the electronic ignition lock control unit interface (N73)
- ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10), via engine CAN (CAN C) with the powertrain control unit interface (N127)
- Left lower control panel (N72/4)
- Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4)
- Fully integrated transmission control unit (Y3/8n4), via drive train CAN (CAN C1) with the powertrain control unit interface
- Steering column tube module control unit (N80)
Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Chassis FlexRay
Direct line
The following components are actuated via a direct line:
- Left front axle damping valve unit (Y51)
- Right front axle damping valve unit (Y52)
- Left rear axle damping valve unit (Y53)
- Right rear axle damping valve unit (Y54)
Chassis FlexRay
The following components are actuated via chassis FlexRay:
- Instrument cluster, via electronic ignition lock control unit and user interface CAN
