Function requirements, general
- Circuit 15R ON
The electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) transmits the status of circuit 15 via the user interface CAN (CAN HMI) to the instrument cluster (A1).
Workshop level adjustments, general
The workshop level is used by technicians in the workshop for reading out vehicle and service data and provides assistance with carrying out the service.
The "Workshop level" menu is activated as follows:
- Select the total distance in the menu "Journey".
- Press right button of accept and end phone call button (S111s3) then press the O.K. button. (S110s6) at the same time for t > 3 s.
The indicator in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster switches to the menu "Workshop level". By activating the scroll forward/back button (S110s1), it is possible to scroll between the respective menu and submenu or in various lists. Selection is then made by pressing the O.K. button.
The steering wheel electronics system (N135) reads in the signals of the buttons in the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and the right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111) directly and transmits these via the steering LIN (LIN E1) to the steering column tube module control unit (N80). The steering column tube module control unit transmits the signals of the buttons in the left multifunction steering wheel button group via the suspension FlexRay (Flex E), electronic ignition lock control unit and user interface CAN to the instrument cluster.
The following menus are accessible:
- "Vehicle data" menu
- "Dynamometer test" menu
- "Change brake pad" menu
- "Head-up display" menu (with CODE 463 (Head-up display))
"Vehicle data" menu
The following data can be called up in the vehicle data menu:
- Voltage (in V) and amp draw (in A) in on-board electrical system
- Data from instrument cluster (e.g. version numbers, software releases)
- Engine data (e.g. engine number)
- Vehicle identification number (VIN)
- High-voltage voltage status (model 205.012/047/147/212/247)
High-voltage voltage status display (model 205.012/047/147/212/247):
The following data, for example, can be shown:
- De-energized: yes
- Voltage: 0 V
- Current: +0 A
This is displayed in the following conditions:
- Circuit 15R ON
- Irrespective of interlock circuit status
- Terminal 15 ON
- Successful high voltage system power disconnect
- Interrupted interlock circuit (fault)
The following data, for example, can be shown:
- De-energized: no
- Voltage: 400 V
- Current: +10 A
This is displayed in the following conditions:
- Circuit 15R ON
- Fault in high-voltage on-board electrical system
- Terminal 15 ON
- High voltage on-board electrical system operational (no faults)
- Unsuccessful high voltage system power disconnect
"Dynamometer test" menu
Activating the dynamometer test prevents faults being entered in the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) during the brake test on the roller dynamometer.
The following settings can be selected in the dynamometer menu:
- "On"
- "Off with circuit 15 OFF
If the workshop menu is left and the menu "Dynamometer test" was not deactivated prior to this, it will be automatically called up during the next ignition cycle.
"Change brake pad" menu
In the "Change brake pad" menu, the following settings can be selected:
- "OK"
- "Move to assembly position"
"Head-up display" menu (with CODE 463 (Head-up display))
In the "Head-up display" menu, various parameter settings of the head-up display may be set.
