DANGER Risk of death  when touching components on vehicles with high-voltage on-board electrical system Do not touch components and open lines of the high-voltage on-board electrical system. Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers), must not  carry out any work on high-voltage on-board electrical systems. AS54.00-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by contact with battery gel when handling damaged lead-gelbatteries No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. AS54.10-Z-0001-02A
DANGER Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1.1 Disconnect ground line for on-board electrical system battery (G1) Model 205
with code ME04 (Mild hybrid drive)

AR54.10-P-0003LW 
1.2 Expose on-board electrical system battery (G1) far enough to gain access to positive terminal Model 205
with code ME06 (Hybrid drive 50-KW variant (incl. plugin))

2 Remove positive terminal cover    
3 Unlock locking pin (1)    
4 Disconnect electrical connector (2)    
5 Branch off electrical line (3) from electrical wiring harness (4)    
6 Remove insulation of electrical line (3) to behind damaged area    
7 Cut off electrical line (3) just behind damaged area    
INSTALLING Install     
8 Cut electric repair line (5) to match part of electrical line (3) cut off    
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling fumes during soldering. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. Ensure that the work area is adequately ventilated. Secure power supply cables. Avoid sources of fire in working area. AS00.19-Z-0002-01A
9 Connect electrical repair line (5) using connector sleeves (6) to electrical line (3)   AR00.19-P-0100-09A
IMPORTANT Notes on soft soldering   AH00.19-P-1000-07A
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 00 84 00 Heat gun   WS54.00-P-0049B
    IMPORTANT Observe the color coding of the electrical line (3) and electrical repair line (5).

    SPECIAL TOOL Wiring harness repair kit, basic Fig 6
    SPECIAL TOOL New passenger car wiring harness repair kit Fig 3
10 Wrap fabric tape around repair area   AR00.19-P-0100-08A
11 Integrate electrical repair line (5) into electrical wiring harness (4) wrap with fabric tape    
12 Connect electrical connector (2)    
13 Lock locking pin (1)    
14 Install positive terminal cover    
15.1 Connect ground line for on-board electrical system battery (G1) Model 205
with code ME04 (Mild hybrid drive)
