	Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries	No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. 	Remove/install
1	Remove floor covering in front passenger footwell		AR68.20-P-2070LW
2	Unscrew nuts (1)
3	Remove footrests (2)
4	Detach strips of felt tape (5)	Check strips of felt tape (5) are firmly seated. Otherwise, a short circuit may occur.
5	Remove bolt (3) and ground line	Bolt, electrical line to battery terminal for additional battery	*BA54.10-P-1003-01A
6	Using diode test lamp, check on-board electrical system for voltage between positive line of ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13) and a suitable ground point	Diode test lamp lights up: ↓ Detach ground line from on-board electrical system battery and check the on-board electrical system after completing the work.

		Cover positive line of ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13). Otherwise, a short circuit may occur.
7	Remove bolt (4) and detach positive line	Cover positive line of ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13). Otherwise, a short circuit may occur.
		Bolt, electrical line to battery terminal for additional battery	*BA54.10-P-1003-01A
8	Unscrew nut (6)
9	Remove bracket (7) with connected lines
10	Pull off vent hose (8)
11	Remove ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13)
12	Install in the reverse order
