Parking system control unit component description - GF54.65-P-5002RF
Model 205, 253 with code 235 (Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC)
Shown: Model 205.0
Location
The parking system control unit is located under the right front seat.
Task
The parking system control unit is responsible for the following tasks:
- Controlling functions
- Reading in of sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
- Sending signals
Controlling functions
The parking system control unit controls the following functions:
- Parking system
- Active Park Assist
Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Chassis FlexRay (Flex E)
Direct line
The signals from the following components are read via direct lines:
- Rear parking system display (A44/3) (function test)
- Left front outer parking system distance sensor (B8/1)
- Left front center parking system distance sensor (B8/2)
- Left front inner parking system distance sensor (B8/3)
- Right front inner parking system distance sensor (B8/4)
- Right front center parking system distance sensor (B8/5)
- Right front outer parking system distance sensor (B8/6)
- Outer right rear parking system distance sensor (B8/7)
- Inner right rear parking system distance sensor (B8/8)
- Inner left rear parking system distance sensor (B8/9)
- Outer left rear parking system distance sensor (B8/10)
- Left rear center parking system distance sensor (B8/11)
- Right rear center parking system distance sensor (B8/12)
Chassis FlexRay
The following signals, among others, are read in via chassis FlexRay:
- Circuit 15 status
- Engine running or drive train operational
- Wheel speed and wheel rotation direction
- Vehicle speed
- Parking system button status (S6/1s3)
- Reverse gear status
- Ambient brightness
- Switch position of combination switch (S4)
- Left multifunction steering wheel button group signal (S110)
- Steering torque of electric power steering
- Steering gear position
- Brake system status information
- Parking system status
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
The following components are actuated by the parking system control unit via direct lines:
- Rear parking system indicator
- Parking system distance sensors
Sending signals
The parking system control unit sends the following information or requests over the chassis FlexRay:
- Request to show the parking system display in the multifunction display
- Request to display messages or issue a warning tone
- Parking system status indication request
- Request to steer
- Information on distance up to obstacle (remaining distance up to obstacle in direction of travel)
