Operating instructions
The left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and the right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111) can be used to display various menu levels in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1):
- It is possible to scroll in the main menu via the system selection button (S110s3).
- It is possible to scroll within a menu in the submenus or in lists using the scroll forward and back button (S110s1).
- The "Back" (S110s4) button can be used to jump from the menu or submenu to the next higher menu level.
- The "O.K." button. (S110s6) confirms the corresponding selection or displayed messages.
All the buttons of the multifunction steering wheel button group are always installed. However the available functions depend on the equipment of the vehicle.

- "Trip" menu
- "Navi" menu (with CODE 531 (COMAND APS) or CODE 357 (Map navigation))
- "Radio" menu
- "Media" menu
- "Telephone" menu
- "Assist graphic" menu

- "Head-up display" menu (with CODE 463 (Head-up display))

"Trip" menu
The following functions can be selected in the "Trip" menu:
- Show standard display or reset trip distance
- Show remaining range and current fuel consumption (except model 205.086/087/286/287)
- ECO display
- Show or reset trip computer "After start"
- Show or reset trip computer "After reset"
- Display digital speedometer
- Reset values
"Navi" menu (with CODE 531 (COMAND APS) or CODE 357 (Map navigation))
Navigation notes are displayed in the "Navi" menu when the function is switched on. If the function is deactivated, the direction of travel is shown along with cardinal points, e.g. "NW direction of travel".
"Radio" menu
Radio stations can be selected in the "Radio" menu.
"Media" menu
The following functions can be selected in the "Media" menu:
- Operate CD player/CD changer/DVD changer/DVD audio/MP3
- Operate DVD Video (with CODE 531 (COMAND APS))
- Operate TV (with CODE 865 (TV tuner))
"Telephone" menu
When the function is switched on the name of the selected mobile telephone network is displayed in the "Telephone" menu. It is still possible then to scroll through the stored telephone book and select an entry. When the function is switched off the text "Telephone Off" is displayed.
If a telephone is not detected when the function is switched on, the message "Ready for Bluetooth telephony" appears.
"Assist graphic" menu
Depending on the equipment installed and activation, the following status indications are shown in the "Assist graphic" menu:
- DISTRONIC PLUS (with CODE 239 (DISTRONIC PLUS))
- Distance set for DISTRONIC PLUS (with CODE 239 (DISTRONIC PLUS))
- COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST (with CODE 258 (COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST))
- Blind Spot Assist (with CODE 22P (Lane package))
- Active Blind Spot Assist (with CODE 23P (Driving Assistance package Plus))
- Lane Keeping Assist (with CODE 22P (Lane package))
- Active Lane Keeping Assist (with CODE 23P (Driving Assistance package Plus))
- Traffic Sign Assist (with CODE 513 (Traffic Sign Assist))
- Attention assistance system
Operating the left multifunction display button group takes you to the "Attention level" status indication. The "level of tiredness" is shown there.
"Service" menu
The following functions can be selected in the "Service" menu:
- Call up display messages
- Tire pressure loss warning (with CODE 477 (Tire pressure loss warning)) or electronically check tire pressure (with CODE 475 (Tire pressure monitor))
- "ASSYST PLUS" (service data, full service)
- Oil level
"Settings" menu
Different functions can be switched on and off in the "Settings" menu. The following main menus can be selected:
- "Assistance"
- Lights
- "Instrument cluster"
- "Vehicle"
"Head-up display" menu (with CODE 463 (Head-up display))
The "Head-up display" menu can be used to switch the display of individual information on the windshield on or off.
"AMG" menu (model 205.086/087/286/287)
Various system information is displayed in the "AMG" menu.
The following submenus can be called up:
- Warm-up submenu
- SETUP submenu
Submenus are shown in two display menus. The following information is shown in the upper static display level:
- Vehicle speed
- Actual gear
- Upshift indicator "UP" (only for transmission mode "M")
An active "UP" upshift indicator is shown in red. If the "AMG" submenu is not activated, an active upshift indicator overlays all information displayed.
Warm-up submenu
The following information is displayed in the Warm-up menu:
- Engine oil temperature (blue display at T < 80 °C)
- Transmission oil temperature (blue display at T < 50 °C)
SETUP submenu
The following information is displayed in the SETUP submenu:
- Transmission mode setting "C", "S" or "M"
- Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) status (ON/OFF)
- Suspension tuning ("COMFORT" or "SPORT")
