Location 

The Audio/COMAND control panel is located on the center console.

Tasks 

The Audio/COMAND control panel is the central control for the telematics functions. With the Audio/COMAND control panel, the functions that can be displayed on the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8) can be operated. In the process, the Audio/COMAND control panel performs the following tasks individually:

• Receiving signals 
• Sending signals 

Receiving signals 

The Audio/COMAND control panel receives the following signals:

• Circuit 30 and circuit 31 via a direct line
• Control signals of the left lower control panel (N72/4), the right lower control panel and the upper control panel control unit (N72/1) via LCP LIN (LIN A3)
• Control signals of the off-road operating panel (model 253.9 with code 430 (Off-road package)) via a direct line
• CAN messages via telematics CAN (CAN A)

Sending signals 

The Audio/COMAND control panel sends the following signals:

• Own control signals and control signal of the left lower control panel, the right lower control panel, the upper control panel control unit and the off-road operating panel via telematics CAN to the head unit (A26/17)
