Function requirements, general 

IMPORTANT The electronic ignition lock control unit sends the circuit 15 status over the user interface CAN to the Supplemental Restraint System control unit.

IMPORTANT After circuit 15R is switched off, parts of the supplemental restraint system remain active for a certain run-on time.

IMPORTANT Power reserve: The supplemental restraint system control unit provides a power reserve for at least t = 300 ms in case of a power loss.

Supplemental restraint system, general information 

The supplemental restraint system is intended for occupant protection and with CODE U60 (Active engine hood (Pedestrian protection)) for pedestrian protection.

IMPORTANT The belt is prevented from extending in certain situations, irrespective of the status of the supplemental restraint system.
