Location 

The fully integrated transmission control unit is integrated into the fully integrated transmission control controller unit located in the automatic transmission.

Task 

General 

With its own independent diagnosis system the fully integrated transmission control unit determines the current operating condition of the vehicle and controls all gear change sequences taking into account shift comfort and the driving situation.

Flash programming 

The transmission control system in the control unit for the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) is flashable i.e. the complete software in the control unit can be changed (replaced). The software required for control unit programming is stored on the STAR DIAGNOSIS DAS update DVD ( iagnosis ssistence ystem).

CAN data bus 

The fully integrated transmission control unit is connected via drive train CAN (CAN C) to the vehicle's CAN network, and exchanges data with other control units.

IMPORTANTFor code (B03) ECO start/stop function 

Input and output signals 

The following input signals are evaluated by the fully integrated transmission control unit and the appropriate output signals are generated:

Electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) 

Electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) 

Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) 

Steering column tube module control unit (N80) 

CDI control unit (N3/9) or ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) 

Requests for catalytic converter heating

Switching request

Trailer recognition control unit (N28/1) (with code (550) Trailer hitch) 

Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) 

Transmission oil auxiliary pump control unit (N89) (with code (B03) ECO start/stop function)

Instrument cluster (A1)
