Location
The exterior lights switch is located to the left next to the steering wheel in the instrument panel.
Design
The exterior lights switch contains the following components:
- Exterior lights switch, with the positions
- Left parking lights (1)
- Right parking lights (2)
- Off (3)
- Auto on/off headlamps (4)
- Standing light (5)
- Low beam (6)
- Fog lamps indicator lamp (S1e1)
- Rear fog lamp indicator lamp (S1e2)
- Standing lamps indicator lamp (S1e3)
By turning the exterior lights switch into the standing light or low beam position and then pulling it to the first detent position, the left front fog lamp (E5/1) and the right front fog lamp (E5/2) are switched on.
Pulling to the second detent position additionally switches on the left rear fog light (E3e5).
The position of the exterior lights switch is read in by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) via instrument panel LIN.
