Combination switch - Component description - GF82.30-P-5001CW

Location 

The combination switch is located on the steering column. It is directly put onto the steering column module control unit (N80).

Task 

The combination switch is used to operate the following functions:

Turn signaling, one-touch turn signaling, high and low beams, headlamp flasher, windshield wiper and windshield washer system.

Activation of the individual functions 

The turn signal is activated by pressing the combination switch upward for the right side and downward for the left side beyond the detent point.

One-touch turn signaling is activated by briefly pressing the combination switch upward for the right side and downward for the left side as far as the detent point.

The turn signal flashes 3 times.

Switching on the high beam is activated by pressing the combination switch forward. Switching over to low beam takes place by pulling back the combination switch to the zero position.

The headlamp flasher is activated for as long as the combination switch is pulled to the rear.

The windshield wipers are switched on by turning the front part of the combination switch.

The windshield washer system is switched on by pressing the combination switch in the axial direction.

A brief operation in the axial direction activates touch wiping.

The rear window wiper is switched on by turning the rear section of the combination switch. Position "1" activates the intermittent wipe.

The windshield washer system is switched on by pushing the rear section of the combination switch downwards or from position "1" upwards.

IMPORTANT The signals are read in by the steering column module control unit and made available to the corresponding control units via the chassis CAN.
