Remove/install additional battery - AR54.10-P-0007NKM

MODEL 117, 156, 176, 242, 246 as of model year 2016 with CODE B03 (ECO start/stop function)

DANGER Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Move front passenger seat toward rear    
2 Switch off ignition and keep transmitter key at a location beyond transmitter range (at least 2 m)    
3 Fold back floor covering in front passenger footwell.    
4 Release lock (4) upwards (arrow) and remove additional battery (1) far enough until the ground line electrical connection (2) and the positive line electrical connection (3) are accessible    
5 Detach ground line electrical connection (2) from additional battery (1)    
6 Detach positive line electrical connection (3) from additional battery (1)    
7 Remove additional battery (1)    
8 Install in the reverse order
