	Clean
1	Clean area around cap on expansion reservoir for brake fluid
	Remove
2	Unscrew the cap on the brake fluid expansion reservoir and suction off some brake fluid	In order to prevent the expansion reservoir overflowing when pressing back the brake pistons.
3	Remove front wheel-and-tire assemblies

4	Disconnect right front brake wear sensor (S10/2) from right front brake wear sensor electrical connector (S10/2x1)
5	Detach spring (2) from brake caliper (4)
6	Remove screws/bolts (5) from brake caliper support (1)	Guide pin, brake caliper to brake caliper support	*BA42.10-P-1004-10J
7	Remove brake caliper (4) from brake caliper support (1)	Do not tension or kink brake hose (6). To relieve the load on the brake hose (6), secure the brake caliper (4) to the vehicle free of tension. Otherwise the brake hose (6) will be damaged. Do not detach brake hose (6). Guide the right front brake wear sensor (S10/2) through the opening of the right brake caliper (4).
8	Remove brake linings (9) from brake caliper support (1)	Only complete sets of brake linings (9) approved by Mercedes-Benz may be installed. Insert the inner brake lining (9) with riveted-on spring into the brake piston. Peel off the protective foil from the outer brake lining (9) and glue into the brake caliper (4) (arrow). Do not  apply brake paste or lubricants to the brake linings (9) and brake calipers (4)! Dispose of the brake linings (9) as special waste. The local authorities can provide information regarding whether disposal is also permitted as industrial waste similar to domestic waste.
	Measure
9	Check condition of brake linings (9) and measure degree of wear

10	Check condition of brake disk (10) and measure degree of wear

	Clean
14	Clean contact surfaces of brake linings (9) on brake caliper (4) and on brake caliper support (1)	When doing so, do not damage the dust boot (3) on the brake piston. Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects. Otherwise the brake caliper (4) or brake caliper support (1) will be damaged. Any adhesive residue on the contact surfaces of the brake linings (9) and on the brake caliper (4) must be removed completely.

15	Install in the reverse order
	Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work.	Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.	AS42.50-Z-0002-01A
16	Depress brake pedal several times until brake linings (9) rest against brake disks (10)	Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.

17	Check fluid level in brake fluid reservoir, and correct if necessary

18	Carry out brake test on the test stand
