	Remove/install
1	Remove front wheel

2.1	Relieve pressure in front axle ABC system	MODEL 231.### ## up to 021273 with CODE 487 (Active Body Control (ABC))	AR32.50-P-0001-01N
		Catch hydraulic fluid in a suitable container. Bleed screw on soldered fitting in hydraulic line	*BA32.50-P-1001-02B

5	Remove rear section of fender liner	Remove/install fender liner in front fender	AR88.10-P-1300RK
6	Unscrew nut (7)	Before opening the hydraulic system, thoroughly clean the area surrounding the separation point. Even the smallest dirt particles, introduced into the hydraulic components, can lead to malfunctions and a total failure of the hydraulic system. Nut, bracket for valve unit on front axle to rubber-bonded metal buffer	*BA32.50-P-1005-01C
7	Loosen bolt (4)	Bolt, bracket to valve unit on front axle	*BA32.50-P-1004-01C
8	Detach bracket (5)
9	Remove screws/bolts (2) and remove hydraulic lines (6)	Ensure that no dirt enters the open hydraulic lines (6). This can result in failure of the ABC system. Check sealing rings for damage and replace if necessary. Check support rings for damage and replace the complete hydraulic line (6) if necessary. Note the installation position of the hydraulic lines (6). Bolt connecting line to front axle valve unit	*BA32.50-P-1001-01C
10	Disconnect electrical connections (3)
11	Seal hydraulic lines (6) and openings on front axle ABC valve unit (Y36/1) using stop plugs	Record plug	Fig 2
12	Carefully pull out front axle ABC valve unit (Y36/1) to the front.	Very carefully pull out front axle ABC valve unit (Y36/1). Otherwise the hydraulic lines (6) could be damaged by any resulting kinks.
13	Detach electrical connections (1) and remove front axle ABC valve unit (Y36/1)	Before detaching the electrical connections (1), check whether the color coding on the front axle ABC valve unit (Y36/1) and the electrical connections (1) are present. Otherwise, if incorrectly mounted, the front axle ABC valve unit (Y36/1) may be destroyed or may malfunction. Warning: Risk of accident!  The electrical plugs and connections on the front axle ABC valve unit (Y36/1) are color-coded relative to each other, and they must not be mixed up.
14	Install in the reverse order
15	Replace stop plugs in removed front axle ABC valve unit (Y36/1) with plugs	When replacing front axle ABC valve unit (Y36/1) Caps are supplied with new part.
16	Fill and bleed ABC system		AR32.50-P-0021SX
