DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Drain coolant   AR20.00-P-1142LF
2 Drain coolant from low-temperature circuit IMPORTANT To this unlock clamp on grommet (6) and pull out grommet (6) downwards.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir is located under the center engine cover.
 
3 Disconnect electrical connection (4) on charge air cooler circulation pump (M44)    
4 Remove screw/bolt (3) and remove the bracket (5)    
5 Detach coolant hoses (1, 2) at charge air cooler circulation pump (M44)    
6 Remove circulation pump for charge air cooler (M44)    
7 Install in the reverse order    
8 Check engine cooling system for leaktightness   AR20.00-P-1010LF
9 Check engine cooling system low-temperature circuit for leaktightness IMPORTANT Attach tester cap to coolant expansion reservoir low-temperature circuit and apply the test pressure to the low-temperature circuit.

DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
10 Perform an engine test run, check engine cooling system for proper operation
