	Remove/install
1	Move selector lever to position N
2.1	Remove left and right catalytic converter	Model 217, 222 with engine 157 with transmission 722.97 Model 217, 222 with engine 278 with transmission 722.96 Model 217, 222 with engine 278 with transmission 725.04/05 Model 222 with engine 276 with transmission 725.04 Model 222 with engine 276.8 with transmission 722.96	AR49.10-P-7100LF
2.2	Remove catalytic converter DPF unit	Model 222 with engine 642 with transmission 722.96	AR49.10-P-5501LFD
3	Remove heat shield (2)	Collar bolt, heat shield to heat shield bracket	*BA33.30-P-1009-03G
4	Mark position of propeller shaft (1) relative to flange of front axle transmission	In order when installing to be able to reproduce the installation position used by the plant.
5	Unscrew bolts (4) and remove retaining ring (5) from pinion housing with drive pinion	Collar bolt, retaining collar to front axle gear	*BA33.30-P-1004-03G
6	Remove bolts (3) and detach drive shaft (1) from front axle transmission	Do not counterhold the propeller shaft (1) at the universal joint. The needle roller bearings and seals of the propeller shaft (1) will otherwise be damaged. Replace bolts (3). To remove the bolts of the propeller shaft (1) on the front axle gear (3) the front wheels must be counterheld by an assistant. Screw/bolt, propeller shaft to front axle gear	*BA33.30-P-1012-03G
7	Detach propeller shaft (1) along engine from splined profile (8) on transfer case (9)	Make sure that the markings (arrows) are at the correct position. The splined profile of the transfer case (8) will otherwise be damaged.
8	Remove propeller shaft (1) downwards
	Check
9	Check seal bellows for damage and replace if necessary		AR41.10-P-0070-01A
10	Install in the reverse order
