	Check
1	Switch on ignition and check preglow indicator lamp (15)	On diesel engines The preglow indicator lamp (15) must light up depending on the coolant temperature and then go out. If there are problems: ↓ Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
2	Check coolant temperature indicator lamp (26)	The coolant temperature indicator lamp (26) must light up depending on the coolant temperature. If there are problems: ↓ Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
3	Check tire pressure monitor warning lamp (43)	MODEL 217, 222 with CODE 475 (Tire pressure monitor (premium)) The tire pressure monitor warning lamp (43) must light up. If there are problems: ↓ Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
4	Check transmission mode indicator lamp (25)	The transmission mode indicator lamp (25) must light up. If there are problems: ↓ Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
5	Check parking system warning lamp (11)	MODEL 217, 222 with CODE 235 (Active Parking Assist) The parking system warning lamp (11) must light up. If there are problems: ↓ Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
6.1	Check fuel indicator lamp (42)	Except hybrid vehicles The fuel indicator lamp (42) must light up depending on the fuel level in the fuel tank. If there are problems: ↓ Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
6.2	Check state of charge indicator lamp (27)	Hybrid vehicles The charge level indicator lamp (27) must light up according to the charge level (in percentage) of the high-voltage battery. If there are problems: ↓ Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
7	Manually switch on the exterior lights
8	Check instrument illumination	If installed All pointer instruments (2, 18, 33, 37) must be illuminated and for the given displays (10, 12, 14, 28, 32, 34, 35, 36, 38, 39, 40) the background illumination must be activated. If there are problems: ↓ Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
9	Check energy indicator lamp (23) and power indicator lamp (31)	Hybrid vehicles The energy indicator lamp (23) and power indicator lamp (31) must light up. If there are problems: ↓ Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
10	Actuate instrument illumination brightness control	The instrument illumination must be brighter or darker to match. If there are problems: ↓ Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
11	Check displays (10, 12, 14, 27, 28, 32, 34, 35, 36, 38, 39, 40) for any visible pixel errors	If the displays shown (10, 12, 14, 27, 28, 32, 34, 35, 36, 38, 39, 40) have vertical lines, omitted segments or black spots: ↓ Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
12	Switch on front fog lamp indicator lamp (9)	MODEL 222 The front fog lamp indicator lamp (9) must light up. If there are problems: ↓ Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
13	Manually switch off exterior lights
14	Switch on lamps in passenger compartment and check for proper operation	Check inside rearview mirror, reading, mirror and glove compartment lamps. If there are problems: ↓ Repair the problem, subject to separate repair order.
15	Switch off lamps in passenger compartment and ignition
