REMOVING Remove     
1 Drain air conditioning system   AR83.30-P-1760LF 
2 Remove sealing (2) IMPORTANT Detach sealing (2) in area of front module.  
3 Remove engine intake air ducts (3) MODEL 217
MODEL 222
IMPORTANT MODEL 222 with ENGINE 276.9
With engine 276.9, only one engine air intake duct (3) is installed.
 
4.1 Remove bumper MODEL 217 AR88.20-P-2000LC
4.2 Remove radiator grille MODEL 222 AR88.40-P-4001LF
5 Open retaining clip (5) and unhook hood release cable (4) from carrier reinforcement (1)    
6 Disconnect electrical connector (7) from front long range radar sensor (B29) MODEL 217
with CODE P20 (Driving Assistance package Plus)

7 Disconnect electrical connector (7.1) from infrared camera (B84/11) MODEL 217, 222
with CODE 610 (Night View Assist Plus)
 
8 Unclip spray nozzle (18) from infrared camera (B84/11) MODEL 217, 222
with CODE 610 (Night View Assist Plus)
 
9 Remove screw/bolt (6) from carrier reinforcement (1)    
10 Remove carrier reinforcement (1) with upper radiator guides (17)    
11 Unscrew drier cap (8)    
12 Remove circlip (9)    
13 Screw in screw/bolt M12 into drier head (11) and pull out drier head (11)    
14 Remove drier module bracket (16) IMPORTANT Use pliers to pull out at pin (10).  
INSTALLING Install     
15 Check packaging of new desiccant bag (13) for damage If damaged:

Dispose of new desiccant bag.
 
16 Apply new desiccant bag (13) on drier module riser line (12) IMPORTANT Check packaging of new desiccant bag (13) for damage. If necessary, dispose of new desiccant bag (13).  
17 Install drier module bracket (16) with new desiccant bag (13)    
18 Remove screw/bolt M12 from drier head (11)    
19 Install retaining ring (9)    
20 Screw in drier cap (8)    
21 Install carrier reinforcement (1) with upper radiator guides (17)    
22 Screw screw/bolt (6) into carrier reinforcement (1)    
23 Clip in spray nozzle (18) of infrared camera (B84/11) MODEL 217
with CODE 610 (Night View Assist Plus)

24 Connect electrical connector (7.1) of infrared camera (B84/11) MODEL 217
with CODE 610 (Night View Assist Plus)
MODEL 222
with CODE 610 (Night View Assist Plus)
 
25 Connect electrical connector (7) of front long range radar sensor (B29) MODEL 217
with CODE P20 (Driving Assistance package Plus)
MODEL 222
with CODE P20 (Driving Assistance package Plus)
 
26 Close retaining clip (5) and clip hood release cable (4) into carrier reinforcement (1)    
27.1 Install radiator trim MODEL 222  
27.2 Install bumper MODEL 217  
28 Install engine air intake ducts (3) MODEL 217
MODEL 222
IMPORTANT With engine 276.9, only one engine air intake duct (3) is installed.
 
29 Install sealing (2)    
30 Charge air conditioning system   AR83.30-P-1760LF 
31 Perform initialization of long range radar sensor at the front (B29) using a diagnostic system MODEL 217
with CODE P20 (Driving Assistance package Plus)
MODEL 222
with CODE P20 (Driving Assistance package Plus)
 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04B
32 Check air conditioning for proper operation
