Replace supporting frame for cooling module - AR20.20-P-3895LF

MODEL 217 with ENGINE 157, 276, 278 

MODEL 222 with ENGINE 157, 276.8/9, 278, 642

REMOVING Remove     
1 Open engine hood    
2 Disconnect electrical connections at both headlamps    
3 Remove complete front end assembly with front reinforcement IMPORTANT Headlamps remain at front end with reinforcement. AR62.30-P-1570LF
4 Remove fan unit   AR20.40-P-5050LF 
5 Unclip oil cooler (5) and place to one side Model 217 with engine 157, 276, 278
with code 487 (Active Body Control (ABC))
Model 222 with engine 157, 276.8/9, 278, 642
with code 487 (Active Body Control (ABC))
IMPORTANT Oil lines remain on oil cooler (5).

6 Drain off coolant   AR20.00-P-1142LF 
7 Detach coolant hose (7) on low-temperature cooler (3) When removing the left supporting frame (1b).  
8 Unclip oil cooler (11) from bracket (10) and place to one side When removing the right supporting frame (1a).
IMPORTANT Lines remain on oil cooler (11).
 
9 Unclip refrigerant line (14) from the retaining clip (9) on supporting frame (1a) When removing the right supporting frame (1a).  
10 Lift cooling module somewhat and unclip supporting frame (1a, 1b) to the side and remove    
INSTALLING Install     
11 Clip supporting frame (1a, 1b) into cooling module NOTES
Ensure correct seating of the supporting frame (1a, 1b) in the rubber bushing (13).
Damage will occur otherwise on the cooling module.
 
12 Clip refrigerant line (14) into the retaining clip (9) of the supporting frame (1a) When installing the left supporting frame (1b).  
13 Clip oil cooler (11) into bracket (10) When installing the right supporting frame (1a).  
14 Install coolant hose (7) on low-temperature cooler (3) When installing the left supporting frame (1b).  
15 Clip in oil cooler (5) Model 217 with engine 157, 276, 278
with code 487 (Active Body Control (ABC))
Model 222 with engine 157, 276.8/9, 278, 642
with code 487 (Active Body Control (ABC))

16 Install fan unit   AR20.40-P-5050LF 
17 Install front end assembly with front reinforcement complete   AR62.30-P-1570LF
18 Place electrical connections at both headlamps    
19 Pour in coolant   AR20.00-P-1142LF 
20 Check engine cooling system for leaktightness   AR20.00-P-1010LF 
DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
21 Perform an engine test run and check engine cooling system for proper operation    
22 Close engine hood
