Remove/install rear panoramic roof cover - AR77.21-P-0751LF

REMOVING Remove     
1 Prepare adhesive cartridge IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
Cartridge gun, electric, and preheater
AR67.10-P-1000-12SX
    Adhesive parts kit (with heptane cleaner) *BR00.45-Z-1142-02A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Adapter Fig 4
REMOVING Remove     
2 Remove left and right drip rail   AR88.80-P-4000LF
3 Remove antenna   AR82.70-P-8951LF
4 Remove seal (2) between rear cover (1) and rear panoramic roof (3)    
5 Determine gap dimension (A) between rear cover (1) and rear window (4) and note    
6 Cover left and right paint surfaces next to rear cover (1) with shields SPECIAL TOOL Set of shields Figure
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts. Deburr repair panels. AS00.00-Z-0017-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by slipping when inserting blade in the multicutter and byglass splinters when cutting out bonded windows Always interrupt air supply or power supply before inserting or removing blade.
Wear protective gloves and safety glasses

7 Saw off an approx. 1 cm wide strip on the rear edge of the rear cover (1) NOTES
Saw carefully.
Otherwise the upper seal on the rear window (4) can be damaged and the rear window (4) must be replaced.
 
    NOTES
Observe cutting depth when sawing. Otherwise the paneling on the rear roof frame can be damaged.
IMPORTANT Use oscillating saw with round sawing blade.
 
DANGER Risk of injury  from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS67.00-Z-0004-01A
8 Cut out rear cover (1) with cutting wire and remove from panoramic roof frame IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
Glass removal
 
INSTALLING Install     
9 Prepare rear cover 1) for installation IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
Cup suction tool/shackle (for removing and installing windows)

    Adhesive parts kit (with heptane cleaner) *BR00.45-Z-1142-02A 
10 Prepare body flange for rear panoramic roof (3) for installation   AR77.21-P-0751-02LF
    Adhesive parts kit (with heptane cleaner) *BR00.45-Z-1142-02A 
11 Apply adhesive material for rear cover (1)   AR77.21-P-0751-03LF
    Adhesive parts kit (with heptane cleaner) *BR00.45-Z-1142-02A 
12 Install rear cover (1)   AR77.21-P-0751-04LF
    SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Figure
13 Remove feeler gauges NOTES
SPECIAL TOOL Remove feeler gauges only after adhesive material has cured.
Otherwise gap dimension (A) and transitions (B) can change.

14 Install seal (2)
