Inspect condition of brake disks - AP42.10-P-4258TX

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects. Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
NOTES Notes on repairs to brake system   AH42.00-P-0003-01A
1 Remove wheels   AP40.10-P-4050TX
INSPECT Checking     
2 Check brake disks (1) at front and rear axle IMPORTANT Inspect for scores and cracks. Hairline cracks can occur due to high stress.
IMPORTANT Ventilated, brake disks (1) with perforations and without perforations do not have to be replaced if the crack length (2) is a maximum of 25 mm.
With perforated brake disks (1) measure crack length (2) inclusive hole diameter.
For cracks and scores which have split open and are deeper than 0.5 mm: ↓
 
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Replace brake disks. AR42.10-P-0220TX
MEASURING Measure     
3 Measure thickness of brake disks on front and rear axles using caliper gauge SPECIAL TOOL (010) IMPORTANT Observe the recommended limit dimensions to ensure that the wear limit is not exceeded before the next change of brake pad; if necessary: ↓  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Replace brake disks. AR42.10-P-0220TX
