Location
The center instrument panel speaker is installed in the center at the top in the instrument panel.
Task
The center instrument panel speaker is used by the navigation 20 system for the navigation function to output navigation announcements and actuated via direct lines by the navigation 20 control unit (retrofit) (N125/2). In the process, the center instrument panel speaker receives electric signals from the navigation 20 control unit and converts these into acoustic signals.
In vehicles with code (810) Sound system and/or code (359) TELEAID emergency call system, the center instrument panel speaker is already installed in the vehicle and merely has to be connected to the navigation 20 system. This document exclusively describes the task of the center instrument panel speaker as part of the navigation 20 system.
