5 Remove right D-pillar trim

6 Remove side paneling in right side of trunk

7 Remove rear grab handle at roof

8 Remove luggage net tie-down eyes at rear on roof If installed.  
9 Release headliner at rear and lower carefully NOTES
Do not kink headliner or bend excessively. Otherwise the headliner may crack and break.		  
10 Remove multifunction antenna (A28/11) or multifunction antenna mockup    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR MODEL 166.8
IMPORTANT The multifunction antenna (A28/11) or the multifunction antenna mockup is no longer required.		 AR82.70-P-8951GQ
11 Remove door lining from rear-end door

12 Release and fold back floor covering under rear seats

13 Disconnect ground line to battery

14 Remove rear fuse box (F4) with connected lines from bracket

INSTALLING Install     
15 Retrofit FM/TMC antenna splitter (A2/98)   AN82.85-P-0020-03GQ
16 Install new multifunction antenna (A28/11)

17 Retrofit wiring harness for antenna lines and power supply (17) MODEL 166.8 AN82.85-P-0020-05GQX

19 Retrofit cradle for navigation module (A2/30-1) MODEL 166.8 AN82.85-P-0020-01GQX
20 Install remaining parts    
21 Insert navigation module (A2/30) into bracket for navigation module (A2/30-1) IMPORTANT The release pin for removing the navigation module (A2/30) is to be provided to the customer.  
22 Enter special equipment in online vehicle data card via vehicle documentation system (VeDoc) IMPORTANTAdd: 
  • CODE 508 (Pre-installation for Becker® MAP PILOT)
  • CODE 509 (Becker® MAP PILOT)
  
23 Document retrofitted equipment through VeDoc IMPORTANT Attach note "Navigation box mount retrofitted as per AN82.85-P-0020GQ " under field organization texts to design group 82.  
24 Connect diagnostic system and select vehicle via the vehicle identification number (VIN)    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS AD00.00-P-2000-04A
25 Perform variant coding with XENTRY using the software calibration number (SCN) IMPORTANT Code the following control units:
  • Audio 20
  • Instrument cluster
  
26 Disconnect diagnostic system

27 Perform function test IMPORTANT See operator's manual of navigation box.
