| Remove/install | |||
| 1 | Switch on ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m) | ||
| 2 | Remove cover from bolt (1) | Fig 2 | |
| 3 | Remove screw/bolt (1) | ||
| 4 | Remove window frame paneling (2) at top starting at corner of window frame using assembly wedge | Fig 2 | |
| 5 | Pull window frame paneling (2) upward until expansion rivet (3) is accessible | Fig 2 | |
| 6 | Pull pin (4) out of expansion rivet (3) with suitable pliers | ||
| 7 | Turn pin (4) 90° and press in expansion rivet (3) until it arrests | ||
| 8 | Grasp expansion rivet (3) with pliers on pin (4) and pull out of door lining (5) | ||
| 9 | Unclip door lining (5) at mounting clips (arrows) from front door (6) | Otherwise, the retaining tabs on the mounting clips (arrows) can tear out of door liner (5). |

| 10 | Horizontally loosen door lining (5) from front door (6) until electrical connectors (8, 9) on left front door control unit (N69/1) or right front door control unit (N69/2) and inside door opener wire (10) are accessible | ||
| 11 | Guide out release button (7) when detaching door lining (5) | ||
| 12 | Disconnect electrical connectors (8, 9) from left front door control unit (N69/1) or right front door control unit (N69/2) | ||
| 13 | Unhook inside door opener cable (10) on inside door handle (11) | ||
| 14 | Remove door lining (5) | ||
| 15 | Install in the reverse order |
