| 1 | Connect diagnostic system and perform initial startup of radio (A2) or COMAND controller unit (A40/3) | When replacing the radio (A2) or the COMAND controller unit (A40/3). | |

| 3 | Remove bolts (2) | ||
| 4 | Completely slide retaining clamps (3) downward | ||
| 5 | Pull radio (A2) or COMAND controller unit (A40/3) out of instrument panel until electrical connectors and optical fiber connector are accessible | ||
| 6 | Disconnect electrical connectors and optical fiber connector at rear of radio (A2) or COMAND controller unit (A40/3) | ||
| 7 | Unhook retaining clip and remove radio (A2) or COMAND controller unit (A40/3) | ||
| 8 | Remove screws/bolts (4) from removed radio (A2) or COMAND controller unit (A40/3) and remove upper control panel (5) | When replacing the radio (A2) or the COMAND controller unit (A40/3). | |
